PROGRAM

 1st DAY Arrival at the airport in Catania. Meeting with tour leader/interpreter. Transfer to the hotel (included in optional transportation service) along the Cyclops’ Riviera, accommodation in rooms, dinner and overnight.

2nd DAY Breakfast in hotel and departure for a panoramic tour (included in optional transportation service) along the Cyclops’ Riviera to admire the seaside village in Acitrezza and Acicastello, but overall, the splendid Acireale’s old town, where the stone of the buildings and the iron of the balconies are combined to create a beautiful Baroque in blooming. During the tour, lunch in the restaurant. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight;

3rd DAY Breakfast at the hotel and departure (included in optional transportation service) for a visit to Catania’s historic centre, whose Baroque buildings are characterized by the contrast between the white sandstone and the black lava rock. Walk along Via dei Crociferi and Via Etnea, both rich in 17th century churches and monasteries, up to the Baroque Piazza Duomo from which you can enter the magical atmosphere of the "piscaria", the folk fish market. During the tour, lunch in restaurant. In the afternoon, excursion to Taormina, the pearl of the Mediterranean, with its boundless panoramas between sky and sea and the fashionable alleys, where you can go shopping. Visit the Corvaia Palace, the scenic Ancient Theatre, the Odeon, the Public Gardens and the original "Pagodas”. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

4th DAY Breakfast at the hotel and departure (included in optional transportation service) for Syracuse, which is famous all over the world for the many monuments and Greek-Roman period’s excavations that are saved in the Archaeological Park: the Greek Theatre, built in the rocks, the largest theatrical stage of the ancient times; the immense Roman Amphitheatre, the Ara di Gerone II, the "latomia del Paradiso" with the Cordari’s Cave and the Ear of Dionysius, the Tomb of Archimedes. Lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon excursion to Noto, capital of the Sicilian Baroque for the richness of the decorations on the balconies and facades of its palaces. With the light of the sunset, the sandstone is tinged with warm amber tones and between the alleys of the historic districts you will witness the interpretation of popular songs and nursery rhymes. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight;

5th DAY Breakfast in hotel. Departure for the airport (included in optional transportation service).
